The company BAY CITY was founded in 1975 and is nowadays one of the most important pillars of the Norderstedter Schmidt Group. As one of the leading service providers in Europe, the group of companies is networked worldwide and covers almost every sector of the textile industry.

The success story of BAY CITY is based on two pillars: The own brands and the private label segment. In addition to our own brands, e.g. POLO SYLT, NAVIGATOR, SYLT COLLECTION, DETTO FATTO, JZ&CO, COLORADO DENIM, OKLAHOMA JEANS, TEDDY’S, L’ARISSA and EXPAND, we also design and procure customized fashion and product ranges in the private label segment.

Our team of experts meets the requirements of a modern and future-oriented supply chain. With novel technologies of digitalization, such as 3D programs from Assyst, we shorten development processes and are thus able to react to trends and market changes or even proactively participate in them. Our aim is always to use selected, sustainable and high-quality materials; the selection of worldwide, certified manufacturing companies is a matter of course for us.

As a company, we are aware of our extensive responsibility towards people and the environment. This is why we at BAY CITY have been committed to manufacturing our products fairly for over 10 years - with respect for our environment and for the people we work with. In order to take a further step towards supply chain transparency and to drive development forward, we have joined the "Green button". Based on our certification for label „Grüner Knopf“, we have analyized and further developed our processes.

The origin of our core capabilities are based in the developement of functional sportswear for high valuable brands and private labels as well as
target group specified products for international well-known sport brands.
As being well-aware about our corporate responsibility, we have a clear focus on social and ecological sustainability in the entire
supply chain – far in excess of legal requirements.

The sports brand Kappa was founded 1967 in Turin (Italy). The logo’s symbolic illustration refers to mutual fairness and respect of women and men
in sports as well as in daily challenges. Being a worldwide acting sports brand, Kappa applies for this positive attitude – communicating the slogan
„be a good sport“. Kappa is a company of the Schmidt Group.
